The first meeting of the authorised producers of official statistics, whose topic was „Strategic Directions of the Development of Official Statistics”, was jointly organised in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia on 13th November 2017.

The meeting was opened by Dr Miladin Kovacevic, director of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, who emphasized that good cooperation of the producers of official statistics was a necessity for successful functioning of the statistical system of the Republic of Serbia and presented the activities of the Office in the process of the EU integrations and by Marko Cadez, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia who pointed out that establishment of the efficient and consistent national statistical system and greater use of administrative data sources contribute towards easing of the burden on economic subjects and towards budgetary savings.

The objectives of the meeting were advancement of the exchange of information among authorised producers of official statistics, standardisation of the system of official statistics and harmonisation of the methodology of production of the statistical indicators in line with both the national needs and the methodology of the European Statistical System (ESS).

The meeting gathered some 80 participants from 31 state institutions.
