Census 2021/ Pilot Census 2019

In April 2021, we will be enumerated again ...

Preparations have started - we are consulting with users about defining the content of the census, preparing new questionnaires, we plan to modernize data collection method in order to speed up the processing and dissemination of final results ...

Some of planned activity:

  • Pilot census – in April 2019
  • Adoption of the 2021 Census Law – by the end of 2019
  • Selection of enumerators and instructors – in autumn 2020
  • Enumeration – during April 2021
  • Publishing first results – in May 2021
  • Dissemination of final results – starting from autumn 2021

The 2019 Pilot Census was conducted in period from 1 - 30 April 2019 on the sample of 260 selected enumeration areas (EA) in 51 municipality/city.

Basic aim of the Pilot Census 2019 was timely testing all methodological, organizational and IT solutions for implementation of the 2021 Census of population, households, and dwellings.

Two methods of data collection have been tested:

  • Self-enumeration via Internet (CAWI)
  • Field data collection using laptops

06.06.2019. - Pilot Census, 2019, Quality Control

In the period from May 22 to June 5, 2019, SORS carried out the Post-Enumeration Survey (quality control of data collected in the 2019 Pilot Census), by re-enumeration approximately 1,000 by randomly selected households in 16 enumeration areas (in the territory of 16 municipalities).
